Available New and Used ISO Tank Containers
General-use ISO Tank Containers store and transport chemical and oil products.
What is an ISO Tank Container?
UN portable ISO tank containers are made of stainless steel and have a uniform external appearance. The construction materials, linings, and fittings vary. Tank containers are classified according to the products carried and are commonly grouped in categories and referred to among other types as Swap Body Tanks, Bitumen Tanks, Gas Tanks, Food-Grade Tanks and more. They are available as either insulated or non-insulated with or without steam-heat capability.
The tank container is a pressure vessel mounted in a frame. Frame dimensions comply with the International Standard Organization (ISO) guidelines and are constructed following uniform international regulations for the carriage of bulk cargoes by truck, train, or ship.

Standard ISO Tank Container Sizes
Standard ISO tank container sizes are 20’ long by 8’ wide by 8’6’ high (6,096 × 2,438 × 2,590 cm). Corner castings are in each of the 8 corners, similar to standard cargo containers.
Tank containers range in size. Older tank containers are often 15,000 liters (3,962 US gallons). Current tank container sizes range from 21,000 liters (5,548 US gallons) to 26,000 liters (6,868 US gallons).
There are many variations on these themes. For example, Swap Tank containers – utilized in domestic European trade lanes – can be up to 36,000 liters. There are also specialized tanks for carriage of Bitumen and various gasses.

Types of Tank Containers
Type T11 Standard Tank Containers
The most common tank type is the T11 ISO tank container. It is versatile, available in various sizes and configurations, and can carry most liquid products for worldwide transportation or static ground storage. These tank containers are ideal for chemicals, solvents, oil, gasoline, diesel, AVGAS, and many other products that do not require high pressure or interior lining.

Tank Container Sizes
Standard exterior frame dimensions on all ISO tank containers are 6,096 × 2,438 × 2,590 cm. The Swap Body tanks have different dimensions. Corner castings are in each of the 8 corners, similar to standard cargo containers. Tank containers range in size from 20,000 (5283 US gallons) to 26,000 liters (6868 US gallons) and are available as insulated or non-insulated units, with or without steam-heat capability. There are many variations on these themes, such as the Swap Tank container, which is mainly utilized in domestic European trade lanes in sizes up to 35,000 liters, and special tanks for the carriage of Bitumen.
The most common frame type available is BEAM TANK. The end frame utilizes the inherent strength of the tank cylinder as a beam. FRAME TANK – The full frame supports the cylinder within a steel frame.
